ECNP in depth is a new initiative bringing you interviews with key people in the field, looking at their work and how it reflects upon the future of applied neuroscience. The latest addition is Harriet de Wit (University of Chicago), she talks to ECNP about the role of MDMA in the future of psychotherapy.
Harriet de Wit will speak at the 29th ECNP Congress in session S.23 - Ecstasy, the love drug: acute effects of MDMA on psychosocial processes.

ECNP Experimental Medicine Network spearheads €16.5m IMI grant
A major European project to unpick the biological reasons underlying social withdrawal, led by ECNP’s Experimental Medicine Network, has been awarded €16.5m from the Innovative Medicine’s Initiative.
The PRISM project (Psychiatric Ratings using Intermediate Stratified Markers) is a public-private collaboration co-ordinated by ECNP Executive Committee member Martien Kas.

ECNP School of Child and Adolescent Neuro-psychopharmacology
This is already the 4th time ECNP has organised the ECNP School of Child and Adolescent Neuropsychopharmacology at San Servolo Island in Venice, Italy.
With 50 participants from 30 different European countries and 19 top-level scientists, the school was a great success!
During the five days the participants attended presentations and workshops discussing the most relevant topics related to child and adolescent brain disorders like anxiety, ADHD, autism and bipolar disorders.

BioMed Alliance launches its Code of Conduct
The Alliance for Biomedical Research in Europe (BioMed Alliance), a collaboration between 20 leading European medical societies, including ECNP, has launched its Code of Conduct.
By codifying the core principles by which healthcare professionals and scientific organisations interact with the healthcare sector, the Code seeks to enhance independence and objectivity, and contribute to maintaining Europe’s high standards of scientific research and patient care. ECNP played an integral role, with ECNP serving on the task force that drafted the Code.

Consensus statement on European brain research launched
The European Brain Council (EBC) has launched its consensus statement on the state of European brain research outlining the needs and achievements of brain research in Europe and presenting proposals for future research programmes. The statement was prepared by EBC’s members and partners and in collaboration with over 100 European scientists and patient representatives, with ECNP’s participation being led by ECNP President Guy Goodwin.
